Aistear Event - Cois na hAbhna Archive presents Singers and Songs of West Clare

On Thursday October 17th Cois na hAbhna Archive presents Aistear 2030 Event "Singers and Songs from West Clare, an illustrated talk by renowned archivist and music collector Jim Carroll from Miltown Malbay .

Jim Carroll and his wife Pat Mackenzie have been involved in recording and collecting Irish traditional music since the early 1960's. They met in London, where they published early recordings on many musicians and singers from County Clare who were living and working there at the time.

The Carroll Mackenzie Collection of Irish traditional music, songs and stories is one of the largest and most fascinating collections of its kind in the world.
