Comhaltas Seisiún at Cois na hAbhna Fridays July and August at 8.30pm starting Friday July 7th

Comhaltas Seisiún provides a unique traditional entertainment experience at over 50 venues throughout Ireland during July and August. It is a staged show of Irish music, song, dance and storytelling followed by an informal session with audience participation where all who wish to ‘take to the floor’. Seisiún boasts the longest running Summer shows of its kind entertaining visitors from abroad and local audiences of all ages.

Seisiúin traditional music shows are held annually in Cois na hAbhna during the Summer months and offer locals and visitors alike authentic traditional entertainment in a traditional setting. The show, which starts at 8.30pm, is structured into formal and informal parts. The formal part allows the audience to experience all aspects of the traditional entertainment, including music on the various traditional instruments, step-dancing, and singing both in Irish and English.

This will be followed by light refreshments before the informal part begins. This last part allows the audience to participate in some of the local dances, as basic tuition is given in the simpler céilí dances (Siege of Ennis, Walls of Limerick etc.). Audience members may also like to contribute items of music or singing of their own. The informal part can often be the highlight of the night for visitors.
