Turas Ceoil (CD)

The Clare Céilí Band

Welcome to our CD: Turas Ceoil. We are a group of young musicians from all over Clare. Many of us met in 2012 at Comhaltas music classes in Clarecastle. Our group originally formed as a tin whistle band for the Clare Fleadh in 2014. We also took part in Pléaracha in 2015 & 2016, reaching the national final in 2016. We have performed at Fleadh Nua, Munster and All Ireland Fleadhanna 2016 to 2019. We were Munster medal winners in Ceol an Gheimhridh 2018 & 2019. The band has also broadcast on Clare FM & Radio na Gaeltachta. We are greatly influence by the master musicians of North Clare and by the Kilfenora Céilí Band in particular. We hope we have captured the energy, life and spirit of North Clare music and are delighted to share this with you.
