CULTURE NIGHT - FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21ST 2018

Culture is catching with venues and public spaces across the island of Ireland as they open their doors to host a programme of free late-night entertainment, as part of an all-island celebration of arts, heritage and culture.

Now in its thirteenth year, Culture Night returns on Friday, September 21st 2018.

Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann branches all over the country will host events which will showcase the rich heritage of traditional Irish music, song and dance.

Here are some of the culture Night events taking place in Clare, Kerry, Limerick and Galway.

Cois na hAbhna, Regional Resource Centre, Galway Road, Ennis, Co. Clare have planned a night of music, song and dance, with the Cois na hAbhna Seisiún Group, in the Teach Cheoil on Friday 21 September 2018. The evening promises to be a lovely one with lots of talented musicians, singers and dancers. Time : 8pm - 9.30pm

Inis Cathaigh CCÉ, Kilrush , Co. Clare will host a Seisiún in their Teach Ceoil from 7pm - 8pm.

Ennistymon CCÉ, Ennistymon, Co. Clare have planned an open air Seisiún / Concert in The Square, Ennistymon weather permitting from 7.45pm - 8.45pm. If raining, the show will be held in Ennistymon Teach Ceoil.

Tulla CCÉ have arranged a night of traditional music, song and dance to celebrate Culture Night. This will include performance followed by session to which all musicians and dancers are invited. To join in come alone to The Windswept Inn, Tulla Co. Clare from 8pm - 11pm.

Kilfenora CCÉ offer entertainment from The Young Kilfenora Comhaltas Group, in Kilfenora Hall, Kilfenora, Co. Clare from 6.30pm - 7.30pm

CCÉ Beal Chlair, Team, Co. Galway host an Óiche Ceoil, in Tí Canavan from 7pm - 9pm. This promises to be a wonderful evening of Irish traditional music and song for both young and old. Entertainment with lots of local musicians, as well as special guests. Refreshments and snacks available.

Loughrea Comhaltas, Loughrea Co. Galway have planned a night of music, song, dance and storytelling at Meadow Court Hotel in Loughrea. The Branch will put on a display of music, song, sean nos dance/stepdancing/brush dance,, followed by ceili dance with audience. Time: 9pm - 11pm

Loughrea Seisiún Group will entertain with Dancing at the Mill after Comhaltas members and supporters tour of the refurbished water mill by guest musician Ned Coleman, who worked at the mill as a young boy with his father, who invented the hoist. The tour is followed by tea and refreshments before some music, song and dance. Location: Finnerty Mills, Kylebrack, Loughrea, Co. Galway from 7pm - 10pm.

Oranmore CCÉ host All things cultural in Oranmore in the centre of the village, at the astroturf area from 6pm - 10pm. A group from branch of Oranmore will be plaing lovely entertaining traditional music to the public for a few hours. Many other groups from the village will perform and food from the various restaurants will be available free of charge.

Ballydonoghue Lisselton CCÉ provide a night with Music, singing and dancing for all ages, with finger food at The Lake House, Tuosist, Kenmare, Co. Kerry from 7.30pm - 11pm

Ballybunnion CCÉ have arranged a music session to encourage all age groups to come together to play music, sing and dance in an informal fun environment. This is positive for all involved and also for the promotion of music, song and dace in the wider community. You will find Ballybunnion's Culture Night entertainment on Main Street, Ballybunnion, Co. Kerry from 8pm - 10pm.

Leac Snámha CCÉ Culture Night host a night of music, song, dance and comhra for the entire community to enjoy at The Ceolan. Lixnaw, Co. Kerry from 7pm - 9pm.

The Listowel Comhaltas Branch will hold an open house for all ages, children and adults. Dancing, singing, group sessions. Bring your instrument, voice, shoes and stories. The Seanchaí, The Square, Listowel, Co. Kerry from 7pm - 9pm

Culture Night with Garrai Eoin CCÉ host an evening of Irish music, singing, dancing, for all to share in Limerick City Centre. 6.30pm - 8pm

Teampall an Ghleanntáin CCÉ have arranged a night of traditional music, song, dance and story at The Devon Inn, Templegalantine Co. Limerick from 9pm - 11pm.
