Paddy Crowe - A Loyal and Committed Worker For Comhaltas And Fleadh Nua
16th May 2023
It is with great sadness that we heard of the passing of Paddy on Monday 15th May after a short illness. A native of Dysart, Ruan, he lived his whole life in the house he was born in, his two great interests in life were set dancing and the GAA. Paddy was part of the fabric of Cois na hAbhna since its official opening on St. Patrick’s Day 1983, always at the door with his welcoming face and outstretched arm for locals and visitors alike, his presence will be sadly missed. As a keyholder of Cois na hAbhna which was considered by all who knew him as his second home, Paddy was dependable, honest, loyal and decent, no job was ever too much for him. His work on decorating floats for Fleadh Nua parades, St. Patrick’s Day Parades, Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, Munster Fleadhs and County Fleadhs over the years was legendary.
Paddy’s whole life was in the service of others, he worked a staggering 49 years with the outdoor staff at Clare Co. Co. Taking charge of crews and equipment during emergencies and storms were often huge challenges he took on with relative ease which his superiors credited to his calm temperament and vast experience. We offer our deepest sympathies to his family, and also his extended Clare Comhaltas family who will be there to offer support in the difficult days ahead. Solas agus suaimhneas na bhlaitheas ort Paddy, ar do anam cheoilmhar
