International Women’s Day 8th March 2023

To mark International Women’s Day, Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann and Cois na hAbhna Archive have produced a short video tribute to some of the many extraordinary women who made a significant contribution to Irish Traditional Music and Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann during its formative years. Covering the first 25 years of the organisation, it features a selection of those inspirational women who emerged as, leaders, teachers, organisers and outstanding artists, helping to to build the fledgeling organisation into what is now a recognised world leader in the field of traditional arts, with 19 cultural centres in Ireland and branches around the globe.
