Togha Ceoil agus Rogha Rince’s Amhránaíochta na hÉireann.
Following on from the fantastic success of previous year’s Concert Tours, this year’s tour promises again to be a truly wonderful night of Music, Dancing, Singing and Storytelling, featuring the cream of traditional music talent drawn from all four Provinces of Ireland.
Each year the tour assembles a fine mix of established artistes together with up-and-coming young stars. These are blended together into a fast-moving and colourful show that appeals to both the connoisseurs and peripheral fans of Irish traditional entertainment.
This year we are delighted to have a Clare representative on the tour – Sinéad Mulqueen is from O’Callaghan’s Mills, and plays piano and concertina. A second year student at Mary Immaculate College, Limerick, she is a member of Tulla CCÉ, played piano with the Tulla Junior Céilí Band, and percussionist / concertina player with the Grúpa Ceoil. As a member of East Clare Young Musicians under the leadership of Mary MacNamara, she participated in cultural exchange trips to such countries as Norway and the Shetland Islands. Currently, she is a member of the Ennis Seisiún Group that performs throughout the summer in Cois na hAbhana, and she also plays with the new trad group “Cléite”. Sinéad has competed at Fleadhanna Ceoil since she was seven, and has All Ireland titles in all the age group; (solos and céilí band) and is the current All Ireland Senior Champion in both Concertina and Accompaniment.
